Industries · Diagnostic by vertical

Five industries where AI-mediated discovery has already shifted.

The Answerability Diagnostic applied vertical by vertical. Each industry below has its own buyer questions, its own competitive set, and its own pattern of which AI engines have settled on a canonical answer and which haven’t. We are publishing them one at a time, each grounded in a real cross-engine capture rather than a generic template.

The five industries below were chosen because each has reached the same inflection: paid acquisition got more expensive while AI began assembling a buyer shortlist without the firm being asked. Read across the five, a pattern surfaces — one we name category temperature. AI engines treat some categories as frozen (five engines agree on the same named leader), some as fragmented (five engines hold five different shortlists), and some as hybrid (frozen on one sub-category, fragmented on another). The five briefs below are arranged from most consensus to most fragmentation; the displacement opportunity differs sharply by where a firm sits on that spectrum.

Frozen all engines agree Fragmented five different shortlists

Inter-engine overlap (Jaccard) across six buyer-intent prompts, five engines, three runs each. Higher = more consensus on the named firms. Observed pattern in dated samples; not a ranking, not predictive.

B2B SaaS & Industrial Manufacturing
